I strongly believe that massage therapy is a form of health care.
My philosophy of healing is simple: healing starts from within, and as a bodyworker, my work is to facilitate healing. My intention is to provide space for the client’s personal journey towards well-being. The simple gesture of touch can open the door to a world of change.
Prior to studying massage, I earned my bachelor’s degree at Wesleyan University, in Middletown, Connecticut, and my Master of Fine Arts Degree at Rhode Island School of Design, where I have also been a faculty member. Many experiences steered me towards adding a massage therapy license to my credentials, including being a volunteer patient companion at Rhode Island Hospital, and practicing yoga at Eyes of the World, in Providence.
I studied massage therapy at the Scherer Institute of Natural Healing, in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The school’s goal is to give students a “grounded physiological and technical foundation in theory and practice while cultivating the development of sensitivity, presence and compassion.” Blending eastern and western, intuitive and structural methods, Scherer gives me a rich foundation on which to build. It was a rigorous program, academically and emotionally, and I wouldn’t want it to be any other way.
I’d describe my massage work as warm, nurturing, revitalizing, attentive, and very focused. I think the human body is amazingly constructed. Every day that I do bodywork, I learn something new about the body. I perform both Swedish and deep tissue techniques. I hope to someday study: specific injury work, thai yoga massage, oncology massage, and, potentially, visceral manipulation. I'm a member of the Crisis Massage Team of Rhode Island.
Currently I am available by appointment at Sundance Therapies in East Greenwich on Mondays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
I am available by appointment at Balanced Touch Massage in Providence on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Call me for information about hosting a “massage party” at your home or office–a great idea for a bridal shower, bachelorette party, or pre- or post- athletic activity (game, meet, or race).

Me, in New Mexico
"[Jen's work was] very soothing and those long, strong, lanky fingers did
wonders. It worked!"
- Cristina D., Providence, RI
"I actually had quite a lot of relief. The tension that I felt when my legs were at rest (usually like my heels were sort of being pulled back) was alleviated. The tightness in the shin area was also improved. Best of all... I didn't have any night time leg cramps for almost a month! That was really remarkable!"
- Jen G., Warwick, RI
"[When] Jen worked on me, it seemed absolutely impossible that my back could ever hurt again! Great hands, great pressure, great therapist!"
- Carolyn R., East Greenwich, RI
